What we collect when you ask us for a quote, why, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
This website is operated by Idas Consulting & Trading Ltd. (Company No. 12499952, VAT 367266272), 35 New England Road, Brighton, BN1 4GG, United Kingdom, trading as ExtrusionStar ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the information described in this policy.
Information we collect
When you send us a quote request, we collect your name and email address, plus any phone number, company name, profile details (quantity, alloy, finish, length, services needed), fencing details (such as the delivery postcode), message and drawing files you choose to provide. If you use the home fencing form on our Aluminium Fencing page, we collect your name, email address, postcode, any phone number and the project details you give us.
How we use it and our legal basis
We use this information to prepare and respond to your quote request, to talk to you about it, and to keep a record of the enquiry. To prepare a quote we may share your drawing and requirements with the manufacturing partners we work with. We process this information to take steps at your request before a contract, and in our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and keeping business records. If you send a home fencing enquiry, you ask us to pass your details to one of the partner firms we supply, so they can contact you and prepare your quote; we only do this when you tick the box agreeing to it.
Marketing emails
If you tick the optional box on our quote form, we'll also use your email address to send you occasional updates. This is separate from replying to your quote request, and we only send marketing emails if you opt in. We rely on your consent for this, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run this site: Supabase (database and file storage), Resend (notification emails) and Cloudflare Turnstile (checking that a form is sent by a person, not a bot). They process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. As explained above, we may also share the details of your request with our manufacturing partners in order to quote for it. Home fencing enquiries are shared with one of the partner firms we supply with aluminium fencing; that firm then uses your details to contact you and quote for your project, under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Drawing files are deleted automatically and permanently 30 days after we process your request. Your enquiry details (name, contact information, project notes) are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and for our business records, or until you ask us to delete them.
Cookies
Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie or use similar technology only to check that a form is sent by a real person. With your consent, given through the cookie banner shown on your first visit, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept. You can decline, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies and data in your browser. We don't use marketing or advertising cookies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct or ask us to delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including private, access-controlled file storage.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page always applies.
