Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about how we work. If your question isn't here, email or call us.
Are you a manufacturer?
No. ExtrusionStar is the aluminium extrusion sourcing brand of Idas Consulting & Trading Ltd. We match your order with the right extrusion, finishing and fabrication partners in Türkiye, the UK and beyond, and coordinate it for you from drawing to delivery.
What can you supply?
Standard sections and custom profiles made to your drawing, in mill finish or fully finished. We can also supply complete window, door and sliding systems, or just the profiles, depending on what you need.
Do you supply aluminium fencing?
Yes. We supply slatted and full privacy aluminium fencing, matching gates, and the profiles and components behind them, in powder coated colours and woodgrain finishes, either as profiles only or as complete project kits.
Do you install?
No. We supply the products and coordinate production, finishing and delivery. Installation is carried out by you or your chosen installer.
Can homeowners ask for a quote?
For aluminium fencing, yes: use the homeowner form on our Aluminium Fencing page and we'll pass your enquiry to one of the partner firms we supply, who will contact you with their quote.
Which finishes do you offer?
Mill finish, powder coating in any RAL colour (matt, satin or gloss) and wood finish, where a woodgrain pattern is transferred onto a powder coated base. Sourcing through our trusted manufacturing network lets us price powder coated and wood finish profiles very competitively.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes. Each profile is produced in a minimum production run of 300 kg per order. If you need less, ask us when you request a quote and we'll tell you whether it's possible.
What do I need to send for a quote?
A drawing is ideal (PDF, DXF, DWG or STEP), but a hand sketch or a photo of a sample is enough to start. Tell us the alloy, finish, length and quantity you need. You can upload up to five files through our quote form, or email them to us.
Will I need to pay for a new die?
Not always. Before a new die is made, we check our partners' die libraries for an existing match, which can save you the cost and wait of a new one. If your profile does need a new die, its cost is shown separately in your quote.
Can you cut, machine or assemble the profiles?
Yes. Profiles can be cut to length or mitred, laser cut, drilled, milled and tapped on CNC machines, and assembled into components, so they arrive ready to use.
How do you check quality?
For a new profile, first samples come to you for approval before production starts. Our partners inspect your profiles before dispatch, and we review their inspection reports and photos before approving shipment.
How long is a quote valid?
Seven days, unless stated otherwise. Our prices follow the aluminium market price (LME), so if a quote has expired or the price moves significantly before you order, we may update it. The final price is confirmed in writing before production begins.
Do you deliver to my site?
Yes. Profiles are packed to protect their finish on the journey, labelled for easy stock control, and delivered to your site by truck or container.
Do you deliver across the UK?
Yes. We deliver to sites across the UK. Tell us your delivery postcode and any access limits when you ask for a quote, so delivery can be planned from the start.
Ready To Start Your Project?
